New Lenox Eyes Grants To Ease Growth and Flooding

New Lenox faces rapid growth and recurring floods as village officials seek federal aid. Officials point to unemployment rates in Will County at 8.2 percent to qualify for a first come, first served Title program totaling about 100 million for Illinois, plus 2 billion for Title II and III programs including CETA and sewage projects. A village clerk, planner, and engineer are requested to handle expansion, with Title II potentially funding sewage and other facilities to relieve backups.

Drop Utility Rate Plea Delayed by ICC Staff Motion
