Man charged in accident that claimed three teens
Frankfort area teens die in crash when a car struck a tree in Prestwick on August 12. The driver, Chris Betts, 20, was charged with three counts of reckless homicide after bond set at 5000. Betts posted bond and was released. Victims include Brian Leis 16 Debbie McGough 15 and Aiea Whodiua 18. Collette Betts 15 and Donald Coleman 15 survived.

New Lenox township resident Renee Kosel was appointed to fill the Lincoln Way high school board vacancy after the resignation of Dr Mary McKendry. The two year term ends in 1985, she will withdraw from the upcoming election, and she is a Western Illinois graduate and former Chicago high school teacher.
