Halloween activities in L-Way area offer treats and events
Lincoln-Way goblins have a busy weekend with a haunted house, parades, pumpkin decorating and trick or treating. Hours vary by town with 3 to 6 p.m. or 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Community groups advise parental accompaniment and staying within a two block area. Special events include Frankfort Jaycees Haunted House with multi hour evenings and an entry fee. A pumpkin decoration contest in Frankfort and a pumpkin carving contest in Mokena are planned, with prizes and merchant coupons. A Spook parade by Frankfort police with Kiwanis and Lions clubs is set for Sunday afternoon, including a parade route and prizes.

Mokena Adds Reserve Officers to Police Force

Quinn selects Mueller for village trustee post
Hans Mueller, a former Mokena trustee, was appointed by Village President Richard Quinn to fill a board vacancy caused by Donald Baumhover’s resignation. Mueller, a resident since 1930, will be sworn in November 8 and currently leads the Lincoln Way District 210 board while presiding at Salem Village. He retired recently from Caterpillar Tractor in Joliet.
