Lincoln Way High School chess team tied Homewood Flossmoor and Bradley Bourbonnais to close its regular season and win the SICA conference championship with a 102 record. Lead scorer Phil Weiss of Mokena topped the list with 200 points, followed by Bob Kaptonek of New Lenox with 128 points and Dave Olson and Bill Begg of Mokena with 101 and 100 points respectively.
