Officials eye early February creek plan parley

State and area officials plan a February seven meeting on Hickory Creek flood control with Joliet Will County and state officials. The session, organized by Donald Vonnahme under Gov. Two-Cent Frankfort Library Levy Returns in Legal Notice

Frankfort public library district tax levy reappears with no tax increase, officials say. Administrative librarian Arlene Santoro notes publication is formal and the levy funds about 11,000 annually of a 223,000 budget, with costs rising slowly as the rate sits at .2734 per 100 this year. The levy can be blocked by a petition signed by legal voters, requiring 10 percent of last election’s votes and filed within 30 days.

Administrators gain OK to seek expansion bids

Summit Hill school officials won board approval to advertise bids for a six classroom expansion at Indian Trail school and to issue a $385 000 bond sale to finance the project The vote was 4-3 with Farnham Durkee Corrigan Noble voting yes and Fitzgerald Barker Webster voting no Bids for the 535 000 building addition are due February 22 at 2 p m with a spring 1983 start and a March 1984 completion planned

Lincoln-Way advisers finish graduation study for 1983-84 changes

Lincoln Way High School advisory committee has completed its review of graduation requirements and will present final recommendations to the Board of Education at the February 24 meeting. Proposals include raising credits from 17 to 18, weighted grades for honor students, typing and computer literacy, shorter 45 minute classes, and eight daily periods.
