Frankfort 157C talks stalled after nine hour session

Negotiators in Frankfort School District 157C failed to reach a pact after nine hours of bargaining on Tuesday with federal mediator Michael Madden. Sup t. Leroy Olson said progress was made but no date for more talks was set, and union representatives could not be reached for comment. The dispute centers on salary and fringe benefits under the 1981-82 pay scale, with talks having started last May and resumed after a summer hiatus.

Sunday sales ruling irks car dealers

South suburban dealers condemn a Cook County Circuit ruling that voided a new state law banning Sunday car sales.
