Sewer Worker Trapped and Killed in Tinley Park Excavation
Johnny Ray a 48 year old Benton Harbor Michigan man employed by George D Hardin Company died after a 35 foot excavation collapsed in Tinley Park while he laid sewer tile. Firefighters civil defense and state county workers rushed to rescue him. Ray suffered crushed chest injuries and broken bones. he was pronounced dead at 11 pm after five hours of efforts.
