Valparaiso salesman injured in Wanatah train collision
Charles Regan of Valparaiso, salesman for the International Harvester company, was hit by a passenger train at Wanatah while crossing the Pennsylvania Railway tracks. His Buick was demolished and his head and arms suffered serious injuries. He was taken to Valparaiso, then Chicago, as doctors attempted to save his arm. He lives with his mother.

Legume pasture is important for hog production. For late fall and early spring, vetch and rye form a good mix. Sow 20 pounds of vetch and about three pecks of rye per acre. Inoculating the vetch is helpful but not required. Besides pasture value, the crop enriches the soil and can be turned under next spring to prepare for alfalfa seeding.
