Knox and nearby towns see a parade of visitors and travelers. Many residents visit relatives in Lafayette Medaryville Wabash and Indianapolis. Nearby farms and businesses prepare for summer, with a weather boosted crop season and community events noted.

J R Ralph’s home west of Monon was struck, walls knocked, plaster loosened, a child injured, and the family stunned. The Ralphs carried $1000 in home insurance.

Miss Mildred Thompson daughter of Mr and Mrs B H Thompson of Knox died at home Saturday after a months long diabetes illness. Funeral Monday at the family residence with burial in Goodland Indiana. Attending from here were Mr and Mrs J L Beasley and daughter Thelma P J Von Tobel Mrs H W Foster W R Jones and M P Hill. From Valparaiso were Mr and Mrs William Schleman.
The Gant family reunion took place at Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Gant’s Francesville home on Wednesday August 29 with four generations present. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. David Timmons and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Lyons and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Asa Thompson and children of Monon, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bechdell and children of Lafayette, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Overman and children of Lafayette, and Mr. W. K. Johnston and Charles S. Bunner of Muncie.
Miss Dorothy Allison wed Paul Moyer at the bride’s Oak Park home. The couple plans to reside permanently in Los Angeles. Dorothy Allison taught at Francesville High School while staying with Minnie Miller.
Farmers meeting in Medaryville high school assembly room on Wednesday evening August 25 formed a cooperative corporation with the assistance of the Indiana Farmers' Co operative Company. Capitalized at 50000 dollars, seven directors were chosen for one year: H F Bremer Claude Record Fred Kroft P C Engle John Selmer George Hansell and Therm Clark.
Miss Blanch Grafton of Rensselaer returned home after leaving Thursday of last week to seek work in Kankakee Illinois rather than teach this year. She left without notifying her parents causing brief concern.
The Hampshire hogs owned and exhibited by John R. Lewis and Son were among the top winners at the Ohio State Fair in Columbus last week. Competition was unusually keen with many hogs entered, especially in the pig class.
Dealers in Lebanon refuse to handle school books citing narrow profit margins allowed by law. The township trustee faces pressure to sell the books at his office amid claims the current sale restrictions limit pricing and handling.
A pleasant birthday supper was hosted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stump s north of Medaryville on Sunday evening. Neighbors and family attended including Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Malchow and children Mary Hilda Milo and Cecil and many others. Refreshments were served and guests wished Mrs. Stump many more happy birthdays.
A large crowd attended the World War I era funeral for Private William Rees of White county, held in the Monticello courthouse yard. Full military honors featured a gun caisson procession and burial in Hughes Cemetery. widow Mrs Reese stayed with Mrs James Hamblin when notified by the government.
Warren Robinson aged 62 died at his home in Rensselaer Tuesday morning after a long illness from anemia. He was born in Gillam township in 1858 and lived there for years before moving to Rensselaer. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon with burial in Weston cemetery.

federal court in Indianapolis ruled the state may regulate coal within its borders under police powers. The American Coal Mining Co. of Bicknell sought an injunction against the special food and fuel commission, but judges denied the petition citing state regulatory authority.
William Schleman and family parked their new Hudson in the Chicago loop last Thursday, locked it and removed the switch, but thieves stole the car valued at 3600 dollars. Insurance covered 2500 dollars. Chicago police are seeking the vehicle.

Rev T J Reeder pastor of the Methodist church was seriously injured Wednesday night while assisting with removing a chautauqua tent center pole it fell striking him on head and body He was unconscious for some time and though able to go out Tuesday he remains under care and the accident appears unavoidable
