S A Dobbins will retire from the hotel business in the Kaster block after three years and move to LaFayette to educate his sons at Purdue University. Snake attack turns Lane mad after bee and snake poisons
Lane a French Creek farmer and companion fight for three hours until medical help arrives. A man killed a rattler and wore gloves to skin it. Later Lane borrowed the gloves to load lumber and was stung by bees. He rubbed the gloves on his wounds, the poison took effect, and he became a maniac but is now recovering.

Following the Chicago and North Western's move a two hour reduction in Chicago to Denver running time, the Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul announces a similar Western schedule cut.
