Residents hail a splendid Sunday program at the Church of Christ with Rev. E J Harris returning from New York to report successful evangelistic meetings yielding over forty conversions. A memorial morning service and 7:00 evening music are planned next Lord s Day with tickets for a banquet to fund meals.
A fire started in a Montmorenci workroom destroyed a garage and thirteen automobiles valued at $35,000. Owner William Burkle suffered the loss. Dr. A M Mayfield lost two cars. A school hack and a tractor were damaged as a bucket brigade kept flames from nearby buildings in a town lacking a fire department.
The United States Chamber of Commerce sends a questionnaire to thousands of firms to determine how manufacturers retailers and jobbers will reduce personal and other costs to a normal basis. Local notes include store ads and residents returning home with brief community updates.
E White visited Chicago and learned Consumers' Ice Co has large stock of last year’s ice at Cedar Lake. They reported storage houses in the north with 7 to 10 inches thick ice and substantial old ice, offering ice to Rensselaer and other Monon line towns.
The Christian Workers of the Christian church plan a food market and Easter bazaar on Saturday, March 26, in the Fred Kopka building in Francesville.
A public sale will be held Monday March 14 featuring horses cattle hogs sheep and implements. The sale site lies 53 miles southwest of Francesville and is organized by William Walker.

Federal official said the number of defendants is less than a half dozen and that arrests would not occur until next week. Henry Colbo Sr born August 1841 in Mecklenburg Schwerin Germany immigrated to the county in 1869 living in Francesville then Cleveland before settling in Beaver Towns Pulaski County. He married twice and had two sons George and John with many descendants and foster children. He died after years of ill health leaving a large family.
Miss Anna Kahler and Martin Weiland wed in a free marriage ceremony described as Ere Winamince.Forty years earlier Samuel Kahler’s daughter had lived in Peoria while the groom, son of Mr and Mrs Ben Weiland of Pekin Illinois, is a prosperous farmer. The couple left yesterday for Len to take possession of their newly furnished home.
Fourteen of the 435 members elected to the Sixty sixth Congress have died since taking office in May 1919. The figure was disclosed at memorial services for Representative Charles A Nichols of Michigan and Dick T Morgan of Oklahoma.
