Death of Mrs Patrick Hackett at 79 in Saint Marys
The community mourns the sudden death of Mrs. Patrick Hackett at her home Tuesday eight o clock. Neuralgia of the heart caused her passing after a painful attack. she was 79 and had lived in the area since marrying Patrick Hackett in Brandon Vermont. Survived by five children Mrs John O Mara of Chicago Mrs Eligie Zellers of Winamac Mrs Margaret Lee Mrs Fawn Gilsinger and James Hackett of Chicago. Funeral at the Catholic church Saturday morning with burial at Saint Marys. Known as Mother Hackett she was a beloved figure of the Emerald Isle and the town.

Farmers Institute Largest Held Here
The Francesville Farmers Institute ended with a county best attendance of 1064 and il dues paid for next year. About 150 dinners were served by the Domestic Science class under Miss Mallory Gump. Notables included Purdue students, O S Hall, R S Thompson, Mrs Etta Guilliams. Officers for next year are M P Hill president Ed Colbo vice president Mrs Frank Martin secretary and Henry Pike treasurer. Fred Rohloff led prizes in the yellow coin event. Canned goods prizes went to Mrs Henry Pike Mrs L M Poundstone and Mrs W R Howatt. Talks covered incubator and eggs, culling before feeding, poultry tours, lighting progress, and farm crisis remedies. The Francesville Shipping Association reported 40 cars of stock worth about $50 000.

Attorney General Lesh ruled that public school teachers on disability pensions are entitled to payments under the 1921 law rather than the 1915 law. Old pensions ranged 350 to 375 dollars yearly, while new amounts will exceed 500 dollars, capped at five eighths of the retirement salary, says Easter Duncan, secretary of the retirement fund.

Miss Frances Fay Doll Dies at Eighteen
The death of Frances Fay Doll occurred Tuesday evening at her parents’ home in Beaver township after a ten day illness from pneumonia and complications. She was the eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Ernest Doll and was eighteen last June. The funeral was held at the family residence Thursday afternoon with burial in the cemetery east of Francesville.

Rev. Olin Stewart, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church at Waveland, died at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after surgery for stomach cancer.
