A group of friends held a birthday surprise gathering at the Hubbard home south of town on Thursday evening. Music and games filled the night as guests enjoyed a jolly mood and departed late, hoping for another pleasant meeting at home in the future.

John Raas ll, 22, son of Frank Russell of Beaver township near Francesville, died in a head on crash six miles from Peoria Illinois Friday night. He worked as a brakeman on the Chicago North Western. Both trains carried engineers and firemen who perished. Remains taken to Francesville. funeral in Pulaski with burial in the church cemetery.
Senator Abraham Halleck of Rengseelaer introduces an amendment to the three mile road law to curb excess road building. The plan lets fifty freeholders petition for a road and fifty or more remonstrators petition, triggering a township wide election with remonstrators paying costs if they lose.
