Death of Jacob Fritz in Jefferson county

Jacob Fritz died at his Jefferson home Monday afternoon at about two o clock from uric acid poisoning and intestinal trouble. He was 10 days ill and may have been hastened by his wife s recent death. Born December 9 1854 in Darke County Ohio he moved to the east of Winamac in 1866 and lived at the former home for 36 years. Funeral services were held yesterday at the Phantom Ridge church.

Death of Rev J M Weddle's brother in railroad accident

Rev J M Weddle pastor learns his brother Thomas B Weddle of Martinsville died in a railroad accident in the afternoon. Weddle left to attend the funeral after receiving the telegram at 9 o'clock last night. He was told of the death along with three others killed in the same incident.

Three Farmers Charged With Murder in Circleville Case

Three farmers Henry Hagangans and Edward and Davis McKinley are jailed in Circleville Ohio charged with killing Miss Fannie Hagangans on February 16 1909. Edward McKinley's daughter Luella Ropebuck from Lacrosse Indiana testified and Hagangans confessed to police that he hired the McKinley brothers to murder his sister a wealthy unmarried farmer who owned property valued between seventy thousand and one hundred thousand dollars.

Drunk in Town Saturday Night Reported at Emergency Hospital

An unusually large number of inebriated residents were seen in Werner's area Saturday night. Some slept off their jag at the Emergency Hospital while others, less affected, managed to make it home.

A Train Load of Corn Passes Through Francesville

The Monon hauled 28 cars of shelled corn north bound for eastern markets, about 32 600 bushels valued at 17 800 dollars. The grain reached local elevators in three days and stayed put due to motive power shortages. By Monday noon 19 more cars were loaded, elevators remain full, empties scarce, and over 30 000 dollars paid in Francesville for corn this past week with thousands more to deliver.
