Rachel Gordon Thrasher born Georgetown Cass County February 12 1849 died April 1 1903 at her home in Franceaville at age 57 years 7 months 7 days. She joined the U B church in 1874 and later the Christian Church. She married Stephen Thrasher in 1865 and moved to Franceaville in 1874 where she resided till her death. A faithful wife and mother she endured long illness with patience and entered eternal gain. She leaves a husband one son two daughters and many friends. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Be.

Wm Benson died last Sunday morning at the home of John Hayworth after a long illness from paralysis connected to old age. He would have turned seventy three in May. His brothers J Benson of Anchor NL and TP Benson of Bloomington IL were present and arranged the funeral, with burial below Bloomington. Benson led a wandering life as a former schoolteacher in Illinois then studied medicine for two years. He later befriended a young woman from his community who died while they were engaged to marry, after which he bought a farm and lived in solitude.
A aging resident who moved from Illinois about ten years ago settled on a large land tract north of town and lived in various homes. Though indifferent in temperament, he was kind and well regarded by those who knew him.
