In Cincinnati on September 19, testimony began in the case against Ives and Stayner of the Cincinnati Hamilton and Dayton rail road for misapplication of its property. In Tirros on Sept 24, John Hayden, while hunting, mistook Charley Bartholomew for a squirrel. He fired, Bartholomew was wounded in the right arm and abdomen, and a shot passed through the tongue.
