Due to failing health Rev Emmanuel J Wrobel of St Hyacinth Catholic church is granted a furlough of several months and will be reassigned within the Fort Wayne diocese. Rev Michael Lubkowski will succeed him at Michigan City and Gary. Wrobel has led the Polish congregation for five years growing it to about 700 members and marked his 25th priesthood anniversary on June 22.

Kingman Pleads Guilty. Sentenced for Grand Larceny
Fort Wayne resident Tracy J. Kingman pleaded guilty in circuit court to grand larceny for stealing a automobile belonging to friend Clifford L. Bornschein. Judge Eggeman imposed one to fourteen years in Michigan City prison, a $10 fine plus costs, and two years disfranchisement. The act followed an August 17 theft to New York, aided by a woman unnamed in reports.

About 5,000 bushels of grain were burned in an early morning fire that threatened the Warsaw elevator owned by Miss Jessie Thayer. Loss estimated at 5,000 to 8,000 dollars, insured. Fire started in the engine room. heavy rain helped firemen contain the blaze.

Last Job in Sewer Fatal in Fort Wayne Scene
James Hoben of 2122 Bowser Street died after the west bank of a sewer caved in during work on a new garage project at 415 West Creighton Avenue. He became buried under four feet of dirt as quicksand formed beneath ten feet. Rescue efforts lasted 25 minutes but he died at the surface. Foreman George Ponsot gave warning.

Bryan Madden a 19 year old painter for Fort Wayne and Northern Indiana Traction Company died after contact with a live 4000 volt wire while atop an iron pole near Fort Wayne Electric Works.
