Fire destroys Western Gas Construction foundry
Fire of unknown origin, possibly from an overheated core oven, damaged the Western Gas Construction foundry to about 25 000 dollars at 3 35 am. Ninety workers lost jobs and valuable cores and patterns were destroyed. Pennsylvania east yard office staff noticed lights in the windows and notified the alarm. Night watchman Dan Bulls helped raise the alarm.

Saloonkeeper Cambray Fined for Selling to Drunk Man
In city court Judge Kerr found Phil R Cambray a saloonkeeper guilty of selling liquor to an intoxicated man. He was fined 40 dollars plus costs after admitting to selling beer and whisky to Jim Carmody who was drunk. The case begins Chief of Police Lenz’s crackdown on saloonists. Carmody pleaded guilty to drunkenness and was fined.

Murdered Men Buried Near Gold Bar Washington
Ward received word that Moritz Sneider and Edward Pfeiffer were murdered at the Pfeiffer cabin near Gold Bar Washington last Saturday night. Funeral services were held at St. Anne's church in Seattle and their bodies will not be brought to Fort Wayne. A letter from John N. Pfeiffer in Seattle is expected with full details within the next day or two.

Seven Injured in Two Auto Accidents Involving Gillespies
Seven people were injured in two Sunday crashes, with Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Gillespie of near Columbia City involved in both. The first crash happened on the Lincoln highway about half a mile beyond the city limits at 4 80 o clock Sunday afternoon. The second occurred as the Gillespies were en route home on the Illinois road four and a half miles west, while they were being transported for treatment.

Lad in Knickies Runs Booze Blockade on Legal Holiday
A 15 year old, nicknamed Johnnie Reyer, helped his brother Henry Reyer sell alcohol at a circus refreshment booth on a legal holiday in Indiana. Women Testify Identify Suspect in Grand Larceny Case
Several women testifying in city court linked Frank Schulz to a burglary at Mrs. Mary J. Gordon's home on August 31. Storms Fury Injures Five in New Haven Factory Collapse
A Friday windstorm toppled the Cream of Rice Factory on Green street near the Wabash tracks in New Haven. August Koehlenberg of New Haven is seriously injured. Stephleigh Gerber and Walter Gerber are slightly hurt. Charles Speckart and Elmer Robinett sustained minor bruises. The two story brick building, recently erected on the old tile mill site, measures 75 by 100 feet and collapsed trapping workers. Koehlenberg remains in serious condition but shows potential for recovery.

Auto Strikes Wagon injuring two men and two women
A wagon was struck on Lea road about 7 pm Thursday when frightened horses caused the vehicle to overturn. Henry Kramer road superintendent and David Lutz were painfully hurt. The auto occupants Earl Malone James Peddicord and two young women including Miss Helen Htend bach were uninjured. A horse was badly lacerated and treated by Dr. Gillie.
