The Fort Wayne Daily Sentinel lists terms: two dollars yearly in advance, two fifty after six months, or three dollars after a year. No paper discontinued while arrears remain. Ads are one dollar per square of ten lines for three weeks, then half rate. Annual advertisers get a literal allowance. Printed with neatness and accuracy and reasonable terms.
The Fort Came Sentinel reports on a rumored Canadian plot to seize Buffalo and Detroit, freeing prisoners, sending gunboats on Lake Erie, and invading Ohio Indiana and Illinois. The paper doubts the scheme but notes strong reaction in Detroit and militia calls. It also covers conspiracy indictments in Cincinnati, a serious accident to A Hartman, and Governor Sprague's wedding to Miss Chase in Washington.
A list notes Capt Nat McLean and other Knoxville officers captured during the Morgan raid in Ohio. McLean, grandson of Justice McLean, later led a rebel company from Knoxville and is now held as a political prisoner. Also details a rail schedule change starting Nov 15 and a boiler explosion at W Yergen & Co saw mill causing extensive damage but few injuries.
Detroit reports a heightened panic over alleged rebel flotilla activity on Lake Erie with Gen. Washburn ordered to the area. A fragment of Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation draft was auctioned at a city fair to aid sick and wounded soldiers. The highest bid came from a Massachusetts man at two thousand dollars, with further bidding possible. A separate note reports Samuel Hay Parker stealing and repaying part of £2500 after seeing a play in Birmingham.
Secretary of War telegram warns of a Canada based plot by rebels to invade the United States, free prisoners at Johnson's Island, and attack Buffalo. Local authorities form a ten to twelve man police patrol and organize tug assistance while railroads and steamboats are urged to tighten watch. Detroit fears a similar winter seizure with Canada linked operatives and blockade runners supplying a rebel force.

The piece contends Northern resistance to a change in leadership, contrasting Seward’s view with Northern Democrats’ loyalty to Lincoln. The Times argues votes must translate to action, urging funding and manning for a 300000 strong volunteer call. The Chicago Times notes the British cotton famine has eased. Half a million workers faced unemployment, but relief from charities and new imports from India, Turkey, Egypt, and Brazil reduced those wholly dependent on charity to 184000, with over 250000 at full work and 100000 on short time.
