Deadly train crash on Seaboard line near state line
Six crew members were killed and six injured in a head on railway collision one mile south of the Virginia North Carolina line near Norlina. Wreckage cut telegraph wires and halted news for hours while wrecking trains rushed from Raleigh and ports south. Casualties included engineers Beckham and Faison from Raleigh and express messenger Priddy of Boykins Virginia. Conductor Tilghman of Richmond and baggagemaster Bryant among the injured. Cause not yet determined.

Four Gunmen Guilty In Rosenthal Murder Case
New York telegraphs report that Gyp the Blood Lefty Louie Whitey Lewis and Dago Frank Ciferoci were found guilty of murder in the first degree by a Supreme Court jury for the killing of Herman Rosenthal. The quick verdict came after a short deliberation of about an hour and ten minutes as Justice Goff instructed the jurors. The four men now face execution by electric chair in Sing Sing.

Train Boiler Explosion Near Pendleton Kills Cattle
An explosion tore through a westbound Big Four freight near Pendleton Indiana. Engineer J R Reninger escaped with facial and leg bruises while fireman Joseph Griswold suffered severe burns. Both were hospitalized as a wreck halted the Indianapolis division for hours. Several freight cars derailed and a cattle car payload was killed several head.

Three Dead and Dozens Hurt in Los Angeles Hotel Fire
In Los Angeles early today the St. George hotel on East Third near Main saw three killed and about twenty injured as a blaze on the second floor raced up the elevator shaft. Victims include Mrs. Charlotte Harrington and Mrs. Ella Moran, with several others jumping from the sixth floor. The fire caused minor damage to the building apart from the upper floors.
