Cushing is knocked out in the 19th round after a lengthy wait and secret buildup. the match lasts one hour thirteen minutes with Gibbons unhurt and Cushing showing a large bruise on the left cheek.
Washington November 7 Postmaster General Wannamaker orders suspension of Mrs Margaret Watkins a general delivery clerk at the Washington post office for repeating a rude remark about Senator Quays son Richard Quay. The incident began when a delivery window remark claimed the fathers mail would go to the dead letter office prompting an investigation. Superintendent Bell admits making the initial remark.
A Philadelphia mother, deemed insane, killed her six year old daughter and attempted to murder her infant, then tried to take her own life. Joseph Lamprecht, a Philadelphia Traction worker, witnessed the outbreak as the family of seven faced a horrific morning.
The White Star steamer Teutonic brought Henry M. Stanley his wife and party to quarantine in New York at 11:45 pm. A greeting party led by Col. Finley Anderson met Stanley at sunrise on the Teutonic, where he and his wife received attendees with cordial exchanges and a pledge to duty.
A sixteen year old girl Pauline Collier from Childress Texas spied a large panther blocking her path to school. She used a lariat to lasso its neck, her pony dragged the animal to death, and the carcass was later skinned for a robe to be presented to her.
Mrs Lillie Hildburgh wife of Henry Hildburgh a prominent insurance agent of 206 Broadway New York died by her own action this morning at her residence by leaping from a third story window to the area below. She had been suffering from a long painful illness and was often irrational. Three trained nurses assisting her were absent at the time.
The cabinet states the president will not call an extra session of Congress as December 1 begins a regular session. Four weeks remain before lawmakers return, making an urgent session unnecessary. The decision followed discussions at the cabinet meeting, with critics alleging census miscounts affecting New York representation.
In Searrue Washington on November 10, traveling salesmen gathered amid anger at Victoria authorities. The McKinley act imposes a $50 license to sell by sample until January 1, after which foreign salesmen must pay $100. Eight drummers including Kamp of New York and a San Francisco participant were fined $50 plus costs after arrest Friday. Reported dull business and guidance for traveling men to avoid Victoria.

A large black assailant opened fire during a Fairmount Indiana procession after a local election. One man, Al Powell, was killed. Four others were wounded including William Campbell and Jim Barry. The shooter was shot by return fire and arrested as crowds threatened lynching. Sheriff McFeely safeguards the scene.
Governor Alvin P. Hovey issued a Thanksgiving proclamation setting apart November 27, 1890, as a day of thanksgiving and prayer with blessings cited and permission to celebrate. A Missouri court case involves Elizabeth Betts and Elijah Harvey’s heirs over a 1859 slave sale and $600 settlement. a $500 appellate ruling upheld the claim.

Frank Deville a 28 year old switchman was instantly killed when he fell beneath moving wheels while setting a brake in the Fort Wayne railroad yards. Remains were sent to Peltier's. his parents are believed to live in Oil City Pennsylvania and a sister in Columbiana County Ohio. He was a member in good standing of the Brotherhood of Switchmen.
The Business Men's exchange met with J. L. Manning presiding and A. S. Lauferty as secretary. They discussed luring a manufacturer to town, five acres near the city, and keeping free gravel roads in repair. The group planned a statement for merchants to present to county commissioners and voted to move meetings to Fort Wayne Land and Improvement Company rooms.
Miss Ida Snider was found dead on the wagon road between Hanna and Avanais in LaPorte county. Beside her lay Robert Shurte, who later killed himself after fatally wounding the teacher. Shurte fired four rounds, then two more in a failed suicide attempt, before dying next morning.
