Spectators Witness Spelling Bee at Turner Hall Spectacle

Nearly 500 attendees filled Turner Hall for a spelling contest staged as a mock battle. Judge R. P. Taylor and R. C. Bell led teams in a theatrically grim skirmish with a black book and foil like a fate decree. The crowd saw names called, penalties, and dramatic miscasts as spellers faced calking tests and improvised arms.

Spelling Be Festival Draws Blooms and Banter

A lively spelling contest at Bloomingdale drew a merry crowd as editors, physicians, and residents debated word forms and pronunciations. St Patrick's Day Procession Parade Through Fort Wayne

A large St Patrick's Day procession formed at the cathedral despite cold weather.
