In Taylor township near Wrasnorore Michigan a heavy knotty log on a table saw caused a fatal wound to Herman Meinke and maimed Amos Coan when the saw blade kicked and struck Meinke in the chest splitting the heart. The blade then cut Coan’s left arm as it flashed past. The accident was caused by a broken wooden screw securing the saw to its frame.
