Dynamite Accident Leaves Teen Fully Disfigured
Filmer Thompson thirteen year old son of Mr and Mrs Walter Thompson of Hesse Cassel nine miles from Fort Wayne on the Devatur road suffered a severe lacerated face and loss of left eye when a dynamite cap exploded in his land. He was brought to the Lutheran hospital where he is reported resting easier after the accident.

Pioneer Undertaker Henry Wellman Dies at 68
Henry Wellman, a Fort Wayne undertaker and pioneer resident of Allen County, died at his Lincoln Highway home four miles from the city. Born April 16, 1847 in Dieclingen Germany, he came to America in 1863 and settled in Fort Wayne. He had been ill seven weeks, with dropsy and liver cancer, and his family was at his bedside at the end. He spent thirty years in the undertaking business and was widely known in the community.

Two Men Die From Gas Escapes in Fort Wayne Home
Anthony Hibler and his nephew Frederick Koehler died of gas suffocation in a kitchen where wind may have blown out a fire allowing gas to escape. Edward Rehm alerted police after finding the bodies at the Hibler residence on Lafayette Street. Coroner Kruse and police deem the deaths accidental. Hibler leaves a widow and two sisters. Koehler survived by a widow, parents, and three sisters living on Maumee Avenue.
