At Convention Hall Chicago on June 18 Elihu Root of New York won the temporary chairmanship over Wisconsin's Francis McGovern after a lengthy roll call. Initial Pennsylvania votes shifted the lead, with Root carrying 558 to McGovern 402 as states tallied their vote by delegates.

Evansville bankers hold annual Fort Wayne banquet

The Indiana Bankers Association group No. 1 held its summer convention at the Anthony hotel in Fort Wayne with 82 northeastern Indiana financiers attending. C. M. California Delegation Sets Alternates On Train for Baltimore

The California delegation on the overland special leaving San Francisco will select alternates during the journey. Nevada Washington and Oregon delegates board en route and will unite at Salt Lake City. The train is due to reach Baltimore on Monday as William A. Black plans to depart from the Anthony Hotel to join the New Purdie at Kala.

New Interurban Line Planned Linking Fort Wayne to Chicago

Burglar Rummages Through Homes In Early Morning Break-ins

Marker planned on former Miami Indians reservation site

Mississinewa chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution plans a marker on the northwest corner of Dr J W Hall farm near Portland Indiana to honor the Miami Indians. The marker will likely be a large bowlder with a copper plate inscribed for the reservation spanning about two miles square.

Phi Delta Kappa Convention Set for Marion

Marion Indiana reports the national Phi Delta Kappa fraternity convention to be held June 26 27 and 28. The gathering marks ten years since the fraternity was founded in Marion and will feature visits to the Mother chapter with delegates from thirty five chapters on the roster.
