Beveridge Withdraws Statehood Conference Report
In Washington on June 12 Senator Beveridge moved to withdraw the conference report on the statehood bill so the conferees could take up yesterday’s compromise. Blackburn opposed, arguing the report is joint property of both houses and cannot be withdrawn without unanimous consent. Beveridge’s motion to grant leave to withdraw passed without division, returning the bill to conference.

Pioneer businessman Michael C. Wade dies at 57 in Logansport
Michael C. Wade a pioneer Logansport businessman aged 57 died. Born in New York City June 7 1849 he enlisted as a drummer boy in 1863 at 14 and served in Wilder's brigade until war’s end. After Sherman he learned trunk making in Terre Haute and moved to Logansport in 1876 to run a trunk factory.

H. H. Stayer editor of the Pierceton Record was killed when he was struck by a moving Pennsylvania train No. 30 in Warsaw while attempting to reach the depot. He died two hours later in the Lutheran hospital. He leaves a wife and two children.

Dover June 12 Col Henry A Dupont elected United States senator for the term beginning March 3 1905. His election was almost unanimous with democratic blanks and Republicans voting for Dupont while Addicks was defeated in the caucus by twenty to ten with one vote for H H Ward. The eleven year old contest ends with Dupont’s victory.
