Body of Christian Eix Found in Hotel Room
The body of Christian Eix, 60, was found in bed at 9 PM Monday in his room at the Home hotel 613 Barr street by proprietor J A Graham. Coroner Edward Kruse ruled death by apoplexy, noting the man had been dead about ten hours. Eix had arrived Sunday, stayed in the room, and was discovered after a prolonged apparent sleep. The body was moved to Getz and Cahill undertakers.

Mail Carrier Killed In Train Collision Near Maples
Joseph Marquardt rural mail carrier of Maples and four children leaves four miles west of Maples. He was killed instantly when struck by a westbound Pennsylvania train No 21 at Ellison crossing three miles east of Maples. The buggy was demolished and the horse injured. Conductor Jerre Rourke and Engineer S P Speece led the train crew. Marquardt had served eight years and was a well known figure in the area.
