Briggs Trial Ends With Suspension Of Dr Briggs
In Washington on June 1 the general assembly moved to a final stage in the Briggs case. After a morning session to consider the New York presbytery appeal, the assembly voted 383 to sustain in part or not sustain. A committee was named to prepare an explanatory minute. In the afternoon the assembly adopted a suspension for Dr Briggs from the Presbyterian ministry.
