Labor Day Carnival Favored To Help City’s Celebration
The Fort Wayne Federation of Labor endorsed a Labor Day week carnival on McCulloch field near the Van Buren street bridge to defray expenses of the annual celebration. The referendum backed the usual Labor Day parade, bands volunteered, and a metal trades council committee was formed to unite city crafts. A tribute was given to S P Kaler for opposing anti labor moves, and pressmen leader John F Gackler spoke urging union support. Mrs Lora Zellers of Avilla died at Indiana hospital asylum after twenty years’ residence.
