Fire destroyed the Pythian Opera House in Union City Indiana and sixteen business places in Augusta Michigan with losses near seventy five thousand dollars. William C. Young of Dexter Illinois and Bartha B. Miller of Amanda Ohio were married at the National hotel in Teene Havre by Rev Crum. The ceremony followed a hastily arranged license amid claims of parental consent and a runaway match. Also noted is the State Music Teachers association meeting at Larortr.
A gas explosion at Union Coal company’s Green Ridge colliery in Mount Carmel Pennsylvania kills Dominick Enderlay and injures Chestira Kesner and seven more workers including Italians and Poles. Fire boss Menepact had warned of gas as Enderlay entered the mine without permission. A rescuing party hauled victims to the surface amid risk of further blasts.

Vaughan and August Donath as responsible and ousted from the trustees, but official records show no such charges or removals. The dispatch was based on press misinformation.

Last Thursday Misa Jane Ninde daughter of Judge L M Ninde married Mayor Arthur Wolf Brady of Muncie at the bride’s home 412 South Fairfield Avenue. The ceremony led by Rev Upson New Preston Conn followed by a reception, dancing and a bridal tour planned through the lakes and east delivery. Approximately 150 guests from Muncie Fort Wayne Covington Chicago and elsewhere attended.
The Fort Wayne Business College held its annual commencement on a Thursday evening at the Temple. Twenty two graduates, both ladies and gentlemen, were honored as they listened to remarks by Senator Bell and Prof. W. E. Mcermut. Diplomas were presented by Prof. S. W. Lahr.
