The will of William H Vanderbilt dated January 9 1875 and a codicil dated June 30 1875 were opened at Mrs Thorne's home and then taken to the surrogate to probate. Executors named include William H Vanderbilt Cornelius J Vanderbilt and Samuel Barton with numerous bequests to daughters sons nieces nephews and various bonds estates. The residuary estate goes to William H Vanderbilt and others named as executors trustees. A codicil grants large blocks of railroad stock to sons Cornelius William Frederick George and to wife Frank A Vanderbilt.
