Unique in Location Dixon Ohio Indiana on State Line
Dixon is a border village split by the Indiana Ohio line with business and depots on the Indiana side and a post office on the Ohio side. Residents include Dr. Morgan and blacksmith Jacob Cox, both near the line, with farming trade feeding Fort Wayne and nearby towns. Dixon’s oldest inhabitants, schools, and a Methodist church share a two-state character and a close-knit, cross-border community dynamic.

Sheriff Seeks Jobs for Bucks County Prisoners
Bucks County Sheriff Charles M. Meredith, also a newspaper man from Perkasie, announced efforts to place men released from Bucks County Prison in jobs. Letters of inquiry have poured in, with Bethlehem Steel proposing to hire 100 men in its coke department at pay rates from 174 to 20 cents per hour, though the sheriff can only place about 10 men.
