Christian Tanger of this county attempted to cross the St Marys river at Williamsport in a wagon on the morning of the 15th. The wagon box broke loose with him and his son inside, drifting downstream. The son leapt from the box and lassoed a horse to reach shore. John Brown then rode to the scene and helped recover them safely to land.
