Private car derailment injures Turner at Lake Erie crossing
A westbound private car attached to the Lake Erie and Western line derailed after a four foot rail break west of the crossing. J. J. Turner sec ond vice president of the Pennsylvania company and a porter were injured. Turner suffered a scalp wound and scratches, Shaw and Kelly escaped with minor injuries. Five men were aboard including Thomas Rodd and J. F. Iseliy. The wreck halted traffic for about an hour until repairs allowed service to resume.

Laymen Meet in Fort Wayne Evangelical Conference
The Fort Wayne district laymen conference of the Evangelical association meets at Bethel Evangelical church on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Four lay delegates and four alternates will be elected to the district’s four year term. Rev. L H Seager of Northwestern College Naperville will give two addresses, one at 2 30 p m. and another in the evening. The district includes 85 to 90 churches across eastern Indiana and western Ohio, spanning Ridgeville to Walcottville and Wabash to Van Wert.

Elastic Plaster and Cond Co of New Haven supplied tile as the lowest bid at 1714 dollars. John Baker of Fort Wayne awarded main line and branches one and three for 1075 dollars. Jack Rodgers of Jefferson Township won branch two with a bid of 129 dollars.

Roanoke Indiana February 3 two Richard Bros hardware employes Harry Wilson and Ernest Welch were badly burned when an Adelgine tank exploded in the rear room of the store. A lantern ignited escaping gas causing the blast which blew out windows and scattered items though both men are expected to recover.

Tragedy on the Scotthaven Line Near Coulterville
A trolley car from Greenock to Scotthaven plunged 200 feet down an embankment after derailing on a slight grade. Twenty miners aboard were bound for work. four men killed including Lore Donnelly and Charles Savite, with others injured. Woman Defends Farm Right of Way in Logansport
Mrs. Fred Byers defended a private right of way by attacking Panhandle Railroad section foreman Atwell Powell. Powell says Byers struck him after he tried to move a tie across the farm road dividing her property. Her husband kept the gang at bay with a pitchfork during the incident.
