Indiana bank chief charged with embezzlement in Noblesville
Noblesville Indiana December 24 William H Honey publisher of the Noblesville Times and former president of the private bank at Cicero was arrested on a charge of embezzlement. He was placed under bonds for eight thousand dollars. The Roney bank was sold two weeks earlier and the Farmers and Merchants bank the purchaser sent experts to audit the books. He is accused of taking four dollars and forty seven cents from the bank and applying it to his own fee. A separate suit claims the Cleron bank was a partnership with four partners whose notes totaling forty six hundred dollars formed the capital stock. Only one note was paid and Rosey is accused of taking the money. In Wells county sixteen farmers formed a threshing ring to regulate work and share costs by exacting 35 cents per hundred bushels of wheat and 14 cents per hundred bushels of oats for excess.
