Pioneer William Y Scarlett Dies After Long Allen County Life

William Y. Scarlett age 66 from Allen County dies of congestion of the lungs at home on Goshen Road. Born in Clark County Ohio he moved to Fort Wayne area in 1848 and served in the 29th Indiana Volunteers. Funeral from his residence on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hatfield cemetery. he leaves a wife and three grown children. Rev. Northrop to preach.
