Court selects first trial in double indictment case
In circuit court Judge Edward O’Rourke allowed the state to choose which of two men charged with the same offense will be tried first. Prosecutor Dan B. Ninde moved to set Kennedy’s trial for February 4, 1907, with Laughlin’s to follow. The party opposing argued Laughlin should be heard first due to confinement issues, but the court ruled the state may determine priority.
