In Leo the drowning at a river dam kills Rivard Dailey and leaves others missing. Maxfield braced on rocks and Arnold survived after a desperate struggle. Rescuers and townsfolk search by boat and rope for bodies as families mourn and aid efforts continue.
The bodies of James Bivard and Frank Dailey were recovered about 5 p.m. by searchers who dragged the St Joe river at Leo all day. The men drowned Sunday and funeral times had not been learned by this afternoon.

Louis Bogge’s two week old dies of convulsions. Bauer death at 77 after old age. Mrs Albertine Bauer and Mrs Winters die of cancer and old age respectively. Lydia Richards dies of liver troubles. Goldie Snyder dies at six. Henry LaFrance, 89, dies. John Grieb’s son dies of lung fever.
The city undertakers report deaths for the week ending April 25. Names include Chester Driftmeyer 10, George Kiethaber 73, Albertine Bauer 77, Cora Thompson 20, Don Houder 8, Joseph Lee 10, Rose Nicholson 36, William Terwilliger 32, Elias Harmon 74, Lydia Richard 49, Sophia Gerke 33, Louise Rogge 14 days. Causes range from brain congestion to heart trouble and convulsions. The notices mention St. Mary's Catholic church as the Thursday service site.
Police seek two missing men in the city. Thomas Miley, a six foot barber from Marion, last seen Saturday at Randall hotel barber shop. He and his wife stay at Old Home boarding house Calhoun street. A bicycle rented from A C Katt's shop on a Sunday evening has not been returned. The man who took it gave the name FE Walling and claimed to be a traveling salesman for a dry goods house. He was seen later at the Randall hotel area but did not register anywhere, and police are aiding the search.

In St Louis, about 200 horses arrived from Memphis bringing total in fair stables to 400-500 as 1,000 thoroughbreds are expected for races beginning May 9.
A bolt struck Harry Krider's barn near Leo on Sunday night destroying a 38 by 75 foot structure. One horse burned, vehicles and grain lost, with estimated damage around 1500 dollars. William Fitzgerald, aiding in the search for drowning victims in the St Joe river, witnessed the blaze. Krider held partial insurance with Allen County Farmers Mutual.
William Brown and Orpha James from Garrett Ind were found drunk driving a buggy through the city Sunday afternoon. Officers jailed them after a 24 mile trip to the city with a horse whipped into exhaustion. They face jail time for drinking and animal cruelty charges, with warrants already issued.
