Mrs. D. W. Souder, wife of the missing ex-county clerk, was seized by a severe nervous attack at her home three miles northeast of the city. She showed improvement by evening but remained seriously ill as the letter from her husband, long believed lost in South Africa, arrived en route to Fort Wayne. Dr. Geo. C. Stemen cared for her.

Tow boats sink barges after fog strike bridge collapse
Thirteen of the barges sank when the tow boats Onward and J. N. Bunton struck the Kenova railroad bridge in fog near Asmarp Kentucky. Siegmund Redelsheimer a longtime Fort Wayne Jewish settler died at 83 in his home at 144 West Berry Street from general debility. Born in Württemberg Germany February 15 1841 he came to America in 1839 and built a business career in Fort Wayne with partners including Abe Oppenheimer and Leo Faulk. He leaves nine surviving children and a widow.
