Crowds flock to a great sale of goods purchased from the receiver of E S Jaffra Co. Competitors doubting its genuineness are set at rest by public reaction as buyers and bargain crowds fill the country with vendors and New York Dry Goods Exchange buyers among the first at special sales.
Exceptional low prices at the department store offer deep discounts on capes and skirts. Velvet capes once $20 drop to $12.50, various cloth and satin capes reduced, and several woolen and crepe skirts marked down to as low as $5.75 to $22.50 with numerous waists and wrappers similarly discounted.

A historical ad lists 3,000 yards Unbleached Canton Flannel at 4 cents, 4,000 yards Fancy Crepon at 5 cents, 2,600 yards SoInch Pacific Lawns at 5 cents, and multiple other fabrics with Jaffray’s and Our prices. The ad offers 1,500 yards of all wool Ingram carpet at 75 cents a yard and 2,000 yards of two ply Ingram carpet at 45 cents per yard with a Monday Tuesday sale. It also lists 2,000 pairs of Nottingham Lace Curtains and 600 pairs of lace curtains priced at $1.50 a pair, all at sale prices.
