Hugh Williams, of Brypton, was killed by George Wierman, a Brypton saloonkeeper, after Williams confronted him at the door. Wierman and his wife then escorted Williams’ wife home. she was struck by Wierman, Williams punched the door, and Wierman opened fire with a 43 caliber revolver, fatally wounding Williams. Wierman surrendered to the sheriff in Paulding.
