Found Dead Beneath His Chamber Window in St Louis

Joseph B McCullagh editor of the Globe Democrat was found dead on the pavement behind his West Pine boulevard home. He had apparently leapt from his third floor window during illness and nervous exhaustion from a taxing campaign. Doctors say he killed himself. no instructions or writings were found. Born in Dublin in 1842, he rose through U.S. papers to edit the Globe Democrat since moving to St Louis.
