Major Ryan Named Inspector Instructor for Indiana National Guard
Major Thomas F. Ryan, long active in Fort Wayne recruiting and later in Indianapolis, has been assigned as inspector instructor of the Indiana National Guard. He will begin duties January 7, with headquarters in the state house, Indianapolis, to oversee guard recruiting and related tasks. Ryan organized Fort Wayne’s district army recruiting office in 1916, formerly commanded cavalry on the Mexican border, and authored The United States Army along with other works. He is expected to be home by April and is well regarded by associates in Fort Wayne.
