Unitarian Conference Backs Wilson War Policy

At Montreal the twenty-seventh annual general conference of Unitarian and related churches voted 236 to 4 for Taft’s peace critique and adopted a resolution approving President Wilson’s war measures. Taft denounced the report as a “paintful literary effort” amid cheers. The convention urged carrying the war to a successful issue and sent copies to Wilson and Canadian officials. The Rev. Holmes, a pacifist, lamented his report’s reception.
