Banks Plan 10 Meet Obligations With Gold Bond
Sept 18 a long session between the Federal Reserve Board and bank representatives led to an agreement to authorize up to 100 million dollars in funds to meet American obligations in Europe. An additional 86 million may be sought immediately, with national banks nationwide invited to subscribe the funds. Gold would be deposited at a Bank of England facility in Ottawa Townele.

Kokomo Dispatch Change of Ownership Reported
Kokomo Ind September 18 The purchase of the Kokomo Dispatch was consummated and the publishing company reorganized yesterday. Logansport stockholders and Kokomo residents form the new ownership with Victor J Obenauer as secretary and managing editor and R C Kleenfer as treasurer. The paper, long a democratic voice, will receive new capital and aim to be among the region’s best daily papers. Stockholders include Ben J Louthain Logansport John Brockmeyer Logansport David Pickle Logansport Rudolph C Mloepfer Logansport V J Obenauer Kokomo with Obenauer also continuing as managing editor and general business manager. The new management plans to make Kokomo a permanent home for the paper and establish a local plant and newspaper of quality. Many Kokomo residents are named among stockholders and managers.
