Hartford, Conn Sept 7 President Taft spoke to about 60 000 on the home stretch of Charter Oak track urging establishment of an arbitral court for international disputes. He warned that Senate inaction endangers global peace and warned that without binding arbitration the nation cannot lead the world toward peaceful dispute resolution.

First M. E. Society Elects Officers

Mrs. J. K. Cecil was chosen president of the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society at the First M. E. Church as officers were named for the coming year. Other posts include HB S Gerkin as first vice president and Mrs. Thomas Spaulding as second vice president with Mrs. George Seabold as third vice president. Corresponding secretary is Miss Martha Wohl ord, recording secretary Mrs. W. W. Brown, mite box secretary Mrs. Willard, and the treasurer to be announced at the next meeting.
