New Haven Road Wreck Injures Fifteen on Trip to Hartford
Fifteen people are injured when the Gilt Edge Express derails near Westerly en route from New York to Hartford. Heavy rain suspected to have undermined the roadbed caused the derailment. Mrs. Louis Bennett of Weston seriously hurt with a fractured collarbone and possible internal injuries. Bishop Ferry of the Rhode Island diocese, traveling from New York, aided in care and was uninjured.
