Death of J Tigert of Louisville After Chicken Bone Obstruction

J Tigert, a thirty year old Louisville resident, died here today after ten days of illness caused by a chicken bone lodged below the throat. He was attending a church conference in Alok when advised by his physician to rest. he collapsed while speaking to his mother, Mrs Martha Curls, at 921 Barr Street. He had been staying on Poort Street and planned to move to Matlindist church South conference before his illness worsened.

Republican Campaign Fund in New York Totals 332000

The New York Republican state committee filed a statement of receipts and expenditures from the recent campaign showing receipts of 332,028, including 313,231 in contributions and 20,000 borrowed from Timothy L. Woodring. Major contributors included J. P. Morgan and L. P. Morton & Co each at 20,000, Andrew Carnegie, John B. Rockefeller, C M Depew and Governor Frank W. Higgins at 2,000 each.

Severe rain and wind storm hits Chicago causing damage

A November storm swept Chicago bringing heavy rain snow and strong winds. Signs toppled in the business district and pedestrians suffered minor injuries. A building chimney crashed through a skylight at 128 Clair Street, flooding a restaurant kitchen and forcing waiters and patrons into a panicked scramble in the dining rooms. Several people were bruised in the crush.
