Officiers of the diocese in Michigan City elected

The Episcopal Diocese of Michigan City held its annual council at Howe. Homer E. Johnson was chosen missionary treasurer and M. C. Dow as diocesan treasurer. A standing committee and missionary committee were named, with delegates elected for the 1910 Cleveland General Council. The bishop’s salary rose to 4,004. Lima township notes and a bar admission for Miles Herring are mentioned, along with a marriage license to William Earl Johason and Bessie Martha Caldwell of Clearspring Township.

Marriage Licenses Issued In Lagrange County

County Clerk Troxel issued two marriage licenses this afternoon. John Swihart of Medcar, Kansas City, and Virginia Herist of Lima obtained licenses. Swihart, a young attorney, is son of Frank Swihart, a prominent farmer.

Keller Funeral Services At Boyer Opera House

Kendallville Indiana November funeral plans for the late Jacob Keller were moved to the Hoyer Opera House for a 1 pm service Sunday to allow greater public attendance. Masonic and Knights of Pythias lodges will accompany the cortege but not perform rituals. Remains will be taken to Ligonier for burial on a 2:30 train. Friends visited the deceased at his East Mitchell Street home, with many recalling his business dealings and expressing sorrow.
