Chicago market reports slow cattle demand and weak cattle prices with hogs rising narrowly. Prices for steers range around 6.85 to 7.05, with various classes showing uneven movement. receipts about 60,000 hogs and 52,000 head of cattle eyed for the week, plus regional yard updates from Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincinnati and other centers.

Death of Mrs. John H Raber in Columbia City
Mrs. John H. Raber died at her North Main Street home at 3 p.m. after eight weeks of illness following gallbladder surgery at Fort Wayne Catholic hospital, where cancer of the liver was found. She was 54, daughter of the late Levis Quick, survived by her husband, three children Gale, Mrs. L. Chapman, and Mrs. Frank Faerler, plus two sisters. Funeral arrangements pending.
